විවෘත මලල කී‍්‍රඩා ශූරතාවලියේදී ලංකාවට රන් පදක්කම් - Sri Lanka won Gold medals in Open Athletics Championships

මැලේසියාවේ ක්වාලාලම්පූර් නුවරදී පැවැති 89 වැනි මැලේසියානු විවෘත මලල කී‍්‍රඩා ශූරතාවලියේදී රන් පදක්කම් 3 ක් සහ රිදී පදක්කම් දෙකක් දිනාගැනීමට ශී‍්‍ර ලංකා කී‍්‍රඩක කී‍්‍රඩිකාවෝ සමත් වූහ.

මෙම තරගාවලිය ඊයේ (19 වැනිදා) සහ අද පැවැත්විණ.

මීටර 400 ඉසව්වට ඉදිරිපත් වූ චන්ද්‍රිකා සුභාෂිනී රස්නායක එම ඉසව්ව 52.86 කින් නිමාකරමින් රන් පදක්කමක් දිනාගත් අතර පසුව මීටර 200 ඉසව්වෙන්ද රන් පදක්කමක් දිනාගැනීමට සමත් වූවාය.

මීටර 400 ඉසව්ව තත්ත්පර 47.19 කින් නිමා කළ කසුන් කල්හාර එහි රන් පදක්කම දිනාගැනීමෙන් අනතුරුව මීටර 200 ඉසව්ව තත්ත්පර 21.5 කින් අවසන් කරමින් රිදී පදක්කමක්ද දිනාගත්තේය.
මංජුල කුමාර උස පැනීමෙන් රිදී පදක්කමක් දිනාගැනීමට සමත් විය.

Chandrika Subashini and Kasun Kalhara of Sri Lanka won Gold medals in 400 meters women’s and men’s races respectively at the 89th Malaysian Open Athletics Championship.

The Athletics Association of Sri Lanka stated that Subashini finished the race in 52.86 seconds while Kalhara clocked a time of 47.19 at the finals.

High jumper Manjula Kumara, 400metres sprinters Kasun Kalhara and Chandrika Subashini represented Sri Lanka at the Malaysian Open this year.

Kumara and Subashini were the best athletes at the recently held National Athletics Championships where the latter clocked a seasonal best of 53.05 seconds to win the women’s 400 metres.

Manjula Kumara cleared a height of 2.20 metres to win men’s high jump.

IAAF World Championship participant Kalhara produced a personal best performance of 46.65 seconds.

The Malaysian Open Athletics Championships is held on 19th and 20th of October.
